Martin Kšiňan is illustrator and photographer based in Rajecke Teplice, Slovak Republic. He likes to seek and capture shapes, light and colour, since these are, in his opinion, three of four main aspects that allow us to sense all things around us in their beauty. Therefore, he equally likes drawing on paper, taking pictures and post-processing images in a computer.

He has worked with photography and photomanipulation since 2008. After he experienced advantages and possibilities of new technologies he has started to merge photography and surreal imaginations into his own perception of the world around.

As he says: “There are always stories hidden below the surface of human mind. My works give me a chance to cross the thin line of subconsciousness and discover this universe. The world around us is full of objects and correlations that offer mutual bridging. Thanks to the photo-manipulated creations it is possible for me to underline these correlations and offer them to the viewer. I adore surreal interpretation of a story as it offers more spheres of perception within one picture. Every viewer lives through his own experiences and based on them he or she forms own interpretation of the seen object.”
